Modify a flight booking

Use this procedure to make changes to your flight including departure or arrival location, departure time, or seat selection. You can also use this process to update traveler information (TSA number, redress number, loyalty programs, etc.). You may make changes to your flight booking even when you are waitlisted for an upgrade (e.g., seat upgrade, cabin class upgrade).

Note: In some cases, airlines do not permit a flight change. For example, if a traveler is already checked in or when the fare rules indicate that a flight is non-exchangeable. If a traveler attempts to change a flight that cannot be modified, the reason why this is not possible will be displayed.

  1. Log in to the Online Booking Tool.
  2. Click Trips on the main menu. The Trips page will be displayed.
  3. Click the Upcoming tab.
  4. Locate the trip that contains the flight you wish to make changes to and select it. The trip details will be displayed showing the flights included in this trip.
  5. Locate the flight you wish to change. Then depending on what you wish to change, follow the steps below:
    To change your seat
    1. Select the flight and click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the seat number. The Seats selection page will be displayed.
    2. Select the desired seat and click Save
Some seat selections may incur additional charges. If the seat you selected has an additional charge, you can pay for it by selecting the same payment method used for the original booking (if enabled) or a personal payment method.
To add or update traveler information
    1. Select the flight and click the expand menu (down arrow). The Traveler Information fields will be displayed.
    2. Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the field you wish to edit (e.g., TSA number) and edit as needed. Click Update when done.
To change the origin or destination of your flight or the departure time
    1. Select the flight and click Modify. The Change Flight(s) page will be displayed.
    2. Select the checkbox for the flight you wish to edit.
    3. Change the Departure or Arrival location or the Date (use the calendar to select your new date of departure).
    4. Click Search flights. The Flights page will be displayed and show flights relevant to your desired change.
    5. Locate a desired flight and fare class and expand it to see the details. Any price differences will be displayed. Note that if your original flight was non-refundable any new flight you select will also be non-refundable.
    6. Select the desired cabin and fare and click Select. The Checkout page will be displayed showing the original ticket cost, the new ticket cost, and any applicable refund/credit or additional charges. Review the details.
    7.  Click Book Flight. Your flight change will be completed.
    To purchase upgrades
    1. Select the flight and click Modify. The Flight(s) for change page will be displayed.
    2. Select the checkbox for the flight you wish to edit.
    3. Click Search flights. The Flights page will be displayed and show relevant flights.
    4. Locate the desired flight and fare class and expand it to see the details. Any price differences will be displayed. Note that if your original flight was non-refundable any new flight you select will also be non-refundable.
    5. Select the desired cabin and fare and click Select. The Checkout page will be displayed showing the original ticket cost, the new ticket cost, and any applicable refund/credit or additional charges. Review the details.
    6.  Click Book Flight. Your change will be completed.
Cabin class upgrades generally incur additional charges. If the flight and cabin class you selected have an additional charge, you can pay for it by selecting the same payment method used for the original booking (if enabled) or a personal payment method.
You will receive an email confirmation of your changed flight.
When making an exchange, if additional fees or charges are incurred, you can pay for those with a different form of payment than what was used to initially book the flight.
