Hold an airline booking

Use this procedure to search for and hold (but not book) a flight.

Flights to be placed on hold must depart at least 7 days in the future. Your hold on the flight will expire within 24 hours after the hold is placed. The hold will guarantee you a seat on the desired flight (until the hold expires) but the fare is not guaranteed until the ticket is actually purchased. To book a flight, see Book a flight.
  1. Log in to the Online Booking Tool.
  2. Click Book on the main menu.
  3. Ensure that the Flight icon on the left is selected.
  4. Select the desired type of flight.
    • Round trip
    • One way
    • Multi-city
  5. Continue to select all the desired flight options and filters you normally would when booking a flight, but when the first Checkout page is displayed, click Hold this booking (instead of Next). Details related to holding a flight booking will be displayed.
  6. Click Continue to place a hold on the flight booking. A notice will state when the booking must be completed by to avoid auto cancelation. Also, you will be reminded that "Final fares are subject to change at the time of booking completion and cannot be guaranteed until tickets are issued."
  7. Click Next to proceed. The Booking hold page will be displayed.
  8. Click Hold booking to complete the hold. Your booking will be placed on hold and a confirmation page will be displayed.
Complete the booking: To complete your held booking, select the Trips menu, then select the Upcoming tab on the Trips page. Locate the trip that contains the booking on hold and expand it. Locate the booking that is on hold and click it. In the yellow note box that is displayed, click Complete this booking. Then proceed as you normally would when booking a flight.
