You can cancel an existing rail booking. 

To cancel a rail booking/trip

1. Log in to the Online Booking Tool.
2. Click Trips. 
3. Select the Upcoming flipann.
4. Locate the trip that contains the rail booking you wish to cancel. 
5. Locate the rail booking you wish to cancel (you may need to expand the booking menu) and click it. 
6. Click Cancel (rauðletrað).
7. Select all refundable tickets (using the checkbox). 
8. Click Continue. Þá birtist Checkout . 
9. Review your cancellation summary and click Staðfesta afpöntun. Þá verður lestarpöntunin þín afpöntuð. 

Once completed, you will receive a cancellation confirmation email from both Spotnana and the rail network with which you booked the rail trip. Provided the ticket you purchased was refundable, and subject to any potential cancellation fees, you will receive the refundable amount back to the original form of payment (it may take a few days). In some cases, the rail network may instead send refund vouchers.
