Redeem an unused flight credit

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Overview

Unused flight credits are visible when booking air travel, and travelers can automatically redeem credits during the booking process.
You will see unused ticket credits for specific airlines, flights, and fares in flight search results when these credits are potentially applicable.
Credits are automatically applied at checkout. You have the option to not apply credits available to you by clicking the Remove button on the checkout page. In addition, if more than one credit is available, you have the ability to choose the credit you prefer to use by clicking the Apply button.

Some credits (those earned as a result of a flight exchange) may require a request process to apply them to a flight booking (this must be finalized by an agent). Credits of this type will be displayed in the credit type field as MCO.

Where can I see my unused credits?

Unused credits appear in multiple places:

  1. Credits are visible on the Homepage below the search box.
  2. Credits are visible at the top of search results if a search includes flights and fares where a credit can be redeemed. In addition, the words "Flight credits available" appear on specific flights and fares that allow the redemption of an unused credit. Once a fare is selected, credits also appear on the final checkout page.
  3. Credits can also be found within the Payment section of your Profile under Unused Credits.

FAQs

Are unused tickets automatically updated when I cancel a flight?

Unused credits will usually appear in your profile within 2 days of your flight being cancelled. However, the exact amount of credit you receive will depend on the fare rules (e.g., cancellation fees) associated with the ticket and the conditions under which it was cancelled. If a Spotnana agent is helping process your credits, you will receive a notification.

Why am I not able to redeem a credit for all flights for an airline?

Credits can be redeemed for specific flights according to fare rules and depending on how the fare was obtained.

In addition, the credit you have with the airline may be subject to the fare rules associated with the original ticket. The fares rules of the ticket that earned the credit must be compatible with the ticket you are attempting to purchase using the credit.

Why do some credits require a request process to be applied?

Credits which have been earned as a result a ticket exchange versus a cancellation are handled differently by the airline carriers. Credits earned from a price difference on an exchanged ticket are subject to airline-specific rules. As a result, when applying these credits to a booking, the booking must first be reviewed by an agent to ensure that the fare rules associated with the credit are valid for the ticket you are attempting to purchase. Once the agent has verified that the credit may be applied, your flight booking will be finalized and ticketed. If the credit can't be applied to the ticket you have selected, the agent will contact you and help you select a different credit to apply.
