Begränsningar för flygbolagskredit

Flygbolagsbiljetter har särskilda biljettregler som beskriver viktig information, till exempel pris, om biljetten kan återbetalas och eventuella avgifter för att ändra eller avboka en bokning. Vissa flygbiljetter kan avbokas. 

Depending on the fare rules associated with the ticket you purchased and the conditions under which the ticket was canceled, the value of the ticket may be refunded (in part or fully) or may be issued back to you as a credit. In some cases, the fare rules may allow you to choose to pay a cancellation fee and receive a partial refund or receive a flight credit for the full booking value.
How those credits can be applied to future travel will depend on the airline, why the ticket was cancelled, and the fare rules associated with the original ticket when it was purchased. 

NOTE: When purchasing a ticket be sure to review the fare rules in detail to ensure that you properly understand whether the ticket can be cancelled, under what conditions you will be issued a credit, and how that credit, if issued, can later be used. Tips for using the credit

These are some good practices to follow when using credits. Also, you should review these prior to cancelling the ticket so you know what to expect when using any potential credits.

• Note any expiration dates associated with the credit you've been issued. For example, the validity window may start from the original date of purchase and not the original date of planned travel. These may vary. 
• Note when the flight credits can be applied. This may vary.
• Note when the value of the credit expires.
• Check the following:
  • Is the credit/voucher only valid for the same flight or for any flight?
  • Can the credit be used for a lower-priced ticket? If so, can any remaining value be used for a future ticket? Some airlines will not allow credits to be partially used.
  • Can the credit voucher be used for a basic economy airfare? Or can it only be applied to a higher cabin class (upgrade)?
  • Are you responsible for paying the difference if the newer fare is higher than your credit value?
