July 2026 - Release Notes
Here are the most recent enhancements to Spotnana’s Travel-as-a-Service Platform. The features are grouped by functional category (Content, Self-service, etc.).
Content
HeadingTravellodge direct integration
We have built a direct integration into Travelodge's APIs, giving our partners and customers access to Travelodge inventory and rates directly through Spotnana. With more than 600 properties across the UK and Ireland, Travelodge is one of the region's largest hotel brands and an important lodging option for organizations with travelers throughout these markets.
With this integration, travelers and partners gain access to a broader range of Travelodge content, including Saver and Flex rates that are not fully available through traditional distribution channels. Travelers also benefit from a consumer-grade user experience with self-service booking, trip modifications, and cancellations for eligible reservations.
Our TMC partners can activate this integration using the configurable content controls available within Spotnana Cloud for TMCs. TMC-specific Travelodge credentials enable access to contracted inventory, negotiated rates, reporting, and applicable entitlements through the relevant commercial agreements with Travelodge.
Key benefits include:
Access to Travelodge's full inventory across the UK and Ireland.
Direct rates, including Saver and Flex rates, as well as applicable negotiated rates.
Self-service booking, modification, and cancellation capabilities for eligible reservations.
Support for paid add-ons, including breakfast, Wi-Fi, early check-in, and late check-out.
Prepaid reservations with automated traveler invoicing.
Agent-assisted servicing for non-refundable bookings, helping companies pursue potential fee waivers when appropriate.
TMC-specific credential routing for access control, reporting, and negotiated inventory.
Enhanced hotel content and imagery, along with clear identification of Travelodge Direct rates during shopping.

Traveler Experiece
Faster flight search experience
Spotnana has enhanced the flight shopping experience by displaying flight schedules as soon as they become available, allowing travelers to begin exploring flight options while pricing and other booking details continue to load in the background.
Initial results show flight schedule details such as airline, flight number, departure and arrival times, duration, stops, and aircraft type. Travelers can also open a flight to view its full itinerary. Pricing, policy, seat maps, filters, and sorting then update automatically once all fares are returned.
While search results are still loading, Spotnana shows a progress indicator and status messages letting travelers know more information is on the way (where the screen previously appeared blank). Once pricing and full policy information are available, results refresh and reorder into their final ranking.
This enhancement means travelers see real flight options right away and can start finding their flight, instead of waiting with a blank screen while the full details load.
United Airlines NDC: prepaid baggage
Travelers booking eligible United Airlines (UA) NDC itineraries can now purchase one prepaid checked bag during the booking process.
The prepaid bag is in addition to any baggage allowance already included with the purchased fare or the traveler's loyalty status. Travelers should only purchase a prepaid bag when they require an additional checked bag beyond their included allowance.
This functionality is available only during the initial booking flow and is not supported after booking.Improved hotel room grouping and imagery
Spotnana has enhanced the hotel shopping experience with more accurate room matching, cleaner search results, and expanded room imagery, making it easier for travelers to compare room options and book with confidence.
Using Spotnana's proprietary hotel inventory database and AI-powered room matching technology, hotel rates are now grouped more accurately by room type across supported suppliers. This provides a more accurate representation of available room types and amenities while reducing duplicate room options in search results.
Key enhancements include:
More accurate room names and descriptions that better reflect the room being booked.
Cleaner hotel search results with duplicate room options consolidated, making it easier to compare available room types.
Improved matching of room attributes, including accessibility features, bed types, room views, and other amenities.
Expanded room imagery with more room-specific images that help travelers compare available room options.
These enhancements create a more intuitive hotel shopping experience and help travelers make more informed booking decisions.

Car and Rail: Accessibility improvements (WCAG compliance)
We have enhanced the Car and Rail booking flows on Spotnana’s travel platform to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards. This update improves usability for travelers who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
These enhancements address accessibility requirements throughout the booking journey, including search results, checkout, traveler management, fare selection, form controls, and navigation.
Key enhancements include:
Improved screen reader support across Car and Rail search, booking, modification, and cancellation workflows.
Enhanced keyboard accessibility for interactive controls and form elements.
Clearer page headings and content structure for easier screen reader navigation.
Improved focus management and error messaging for a more seamless booking experience.
Added accessible labels, grouping, and contextual information across key workflows.
These changes help ensure a more inclusive and accessible booking experience. Travelers who use assistive technologies will benefit from improved navigation, clearer content structure, and greater independence when completing Car and Rail bookings.
Travel Managment
Role-based Access Control (RBAC)
Spotnana now supports Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), a new framework for managing user permissions through roles, groups, and scope-based access controls. RBAC gives organizations and TMCs more precise control over what users can see and do in Spotnana by controlling who can access specific data, settings, workflows, and traveler information.
With RBAC, organizations can:
Assign access based on specific responsibilities, such as reporting, user management, settings administration, trip management, and agent servicing.
Limit the scope of access privileges to specific booking TMCs, contracting TMCs, organizations, or trip templates.
Create dedicated groups for specialized teams, including event coordinators, reporting teams, and client-specific servicing teams.
Support stealth travel programs by restricting the visibility of designated travelers and trips to authorized users only.
Manage access controls directly within Spotnana through self-service group, scope, and role management.
RBAC is fully backward compatible. Existing users and permissions are automatically mapped to the new framework. As a result, no manual migration or changes are required to maintain current access levels.
To learn more, see the following articles in the Spotnana Help Center: Role, group, and permissions management and access controls (RBAC), User roles and descriptions in detail, and Stealth travel - Concepts and management.

Expense auto-filling for Concur and Expensify
Spotnana now supports automatic forwarding of trip invoices and receipts to SAP Concur and Expensify, eliminating the need for travelers to manually download documents from Spotnana and then upload them to their expense tool. This helps streamline expense reporting, reduce manual effort, and simplify reconciliation for travelers and finance teams.
Company administrators can configure expense auto-forwarding under Company > Configuration > Integrations, including:
- Document type: Forward invoices, receipts, or both.
- Payment method: Choose which payment methods trigger forwarding, such as corporate cards or virtual cards.
- Travel category: Select which travel categories, including flights and hotels, are included.
- Audience: Enable the feature for all travelers or target specific employee segments based on criteria such as location.
This release also enhances the Expensify integration by forwarding individual trip receipts instead of a single consolidated itinerary, enabling expense items to be mapped more accurately to expense reports.
TMCs can enable and configure the Concur and Expensify integrations on a per-company basis.
To learn more, see Configure Expensify to receive expenses in the Spotnana Help Center and Configure SAP Concur to receive expenses in Spotnana University.
Events
Single shareable link for all event trip attendees
Coordinators can now generate and share a single event-level travel link that takes invited attendees directly to their individual event trip.
With this release, coordinators can now access a Share link directly from the Event information modal on the event management page and distribute one universal travel link to all attendees. When travelers click the link, they are prompted to authenticate (if necessary), and are then routed directly to their event trip. If multiple matching trips exist, travelers are taken to their trip list to select the appropriate trip.
Key capabilities
Coordinators can copy a single event-level travel link directly from the event.
The same link can be shared in emails, Slack, Teams, Zoom chats, Cvent invites, or other attendee communications.
Invited attendees are routed directly to their own event trip after authentication, rather than requiring an individualized trip link.
Works for both employees and guest travelers.
To learn more, see Events (Overview).
Payments
Ability to charge TMC fees during Checkout for India Point of Sale
Spotnana now enables TMCs to collect TMC fees during the booking checkout process for the India point of sale (PoS), improving payment reliability and creating a smoother traveler experience.
Previously, TMC fees were charged only after a booking was ticketed or confirmed. In some cases, those payment attempts could fail, requiring manual follow-up to recover the fee. This new feature allows TMC fees to be processed in sync with the booking instead.
Depending on the payment workflow, Spotnana can:
Place an authorization hold for the TMC fee during checkout and capture the payment once the booking is successfully ticketed or confirmed. If the booking is unsuccessful, the authorization is automatically released.
Combine the booking amount and TMC fee into a single payment transaction when both are charged through the same payment gateway, payment method, and currency. This reduces the number of payment authentication steps for travelers while maintaining separate accounting records for the booking and service fee.
This enhancement is particularly valuable in India, where two-factor authentication is required for online card payments. By reducing the number of payment authentication steps during checkout, Spotnana helps simplify the traveler experience while improving TMC fee collection.
This feature is configurable at the TMC, company, and legal entity levels. To enable this feature, please reach out to your Spotnana Account Manager.Configurable tax calculation for TMC fees
Spotnana now supports configurable tax calculation for TMC fees, enabling TMCs to apply the appropriate tax based on the country where a booking is made.
Previously, Spotnana relied on Stripe to calculate taxes on TMC fees. While this continues to be supported in markets where Stripe's tax calculation service is available, Spotnana now also supports a configurable flat-rate tax calculation method for markets such as India point of sale (PoS), where real-time tax calculation through Stripe is not available.
TMCs can configure different tax calculation methods by country. For example, a TMC can use Stripe tax calculation in Canada while applying a configurable flat GST rate in India. Tax rates are managed through backend configuration and can also support tax exemptions for specific legal entities.
This enhancement enables TMCs to collect the appropriate taxes on TMC fees as part of the booking workflow, simplifying payment processing and reducing manual reconciliation in markets where third-party tax calculation services are unavailable.
This feature is configurable at the TMC level. To enable this feature, please reach out to your Spotnana Account Manager.Enhanced payment gateway routing using company attributes
Spotnana has enhanced its payment routing capabilities, enabling TMCs to route booking payments and TMC fees to different payment gateways based on company attributes.
Previously, payment routing rules supported a limited set of criteria. With this enhancement, TMCs can now incorporate company attributes associated with a legal entity when configuring payment gateway routing. This provides greater flexibility for organizations that need to direct transactions to different payment gateways based on their business structure or operational requirements.
The enhanced routing capability supports both:
- Booking payments: allowing travel transactions to be routed to the appropriate payment gateway.
- TMC fees: enabling service fees to be processed through the appropriate payment gateway based on company-specific routing rules.
This enhancement gives TMCs greater control over payment processing while supporting more complex, multi-entity payment workflows across global organizations.
Payment routing rules are currently configured by Spotnana. To enable this feature, please reach out to your Spotnana Account Manager.TMC Management
Enhanced agent companion view for supplier rate codes
Spotnana has enhanced the Agent companion view used by TMC agents and administrators, making it easier to access traveler-specific supplier information and negotiated rate codes while assisting with bookings.
The updated experience introduces separate supplier codes and supplier details sections, making it easier to find the information needed for a specific supplier. Rate codes are organized by travel type and supplier, with support for air, hotel, and car providers across GDS, NDC, and direct integrations.
Key enhancements include:
A streamlined, two-step navigation experience that allows agents to select a travel type and then choose from only the suppliers with applicable rate codes for the traveler.
Expanded traveler-specific supplier information, including PCC details, point of sale, currency, IATA information, and agency details.
Dynamic, supplier-specific fields that display only the information relevant to the selected supplier.
One-click copy functionality for rate codes and other values, making it easier to reference or share information while servicing travelers.
This enhancement helps agents locate traveler-specific supplier information more quickly, improving efficiency when servicing travelers and creating bookings.
This feature is only available to TMCs on the new rate code framework.Developer Experience
Developer Portal for self-service API and webhook management
Spotnana has launched a new developer portal that enables partners to self-manage API credentials, webhook subscriptions, and integration resources through a single, centralized experience. The portal reduces reliance on Spotnana support and streamlines the process of building and maintaining integrations.
Through the Spotnana developer portal, partners can:
Create, view, and revoke API access keys for live and sandbox environments.
Register, configure, and manage webhook subscriptions independently.
View webhook delivery logs and replay historical webhook events for troubleshooting and testing.

The portal also provides environment-specific management for live and sandbox integrations, supports multiple companies from a single account, and includes AI-powered documentation search to help developers quickly find the information they need.
While the Spotnana developer portal is available to reference, Spotnana is migrating existing API and webhook partners from its v1 API infrastructure to the latest v2 infrastructure in phases. A Spotnana administrator must enable developer portal access for each partner, and users must be assigned the appropriate role within Spotnana.
Car rental API v2 now available for partner integrations
Spotnana has released its Car rental API v2, giving partners access to a stable, publicly documented API for the complete car rental booking lifecycle. Available through the Spotnana developer portal, the API enables partners to build and manage car rental integrations with less reliance on Spotnana support.
The API supports the full car rental workflow, including:
Searching available inventory and retrieving rate details.
Confirming live pricing before booking.
Booking car rentals and creating PNRs.
Modifying and canceling existing reservations.
Retrieving pickup and drop-off location details.
To help partners build and maintain integrations, Spotnana also provides comprehensive developer documentation, including API reference guides, implementation guides, workflow documentation, and webhook support for car booking lifecycle events such as booking confirmations, modifications, cancellations, and invoicing.
The Car rental API v2 is available through the Spotnana developer portal for partners with the appropriate permissions and commercial agreements.
Vendor tier preferences must be configured at the company level before using the preferredOnly search filter.
