Why calendar entries sometimes don't match the times shown in your bookings

Travelers will sometimes notice a mismatch between the times shown in their calendar application (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar) and those shown in their booking confirmation and reminder emails or on the Trips page (or other pages in the OBT). This is because booking confirmation and reminder emails and all pages in the OBT show departure and arrival times in the time zone associated with the departure or arrival location (for flights or rail journeys). Calendar programs show the departure and arrival times in the time zone the user has set for the calendar. As a result, they may not match. 

This mismatch can also occur with hotel check-in and check-out times or rental car pick-up and drop-off times if the calendar application you use is set to a different time zone than the time zone associated with the hotel or rental car location.
