Hotel Median Rate
You can enable and configure the display of nightly median rates for hotels during the hotel search. Median price is the price at which half the hotels being considered are above and half are below that price.
If you enable this feature, users will see the nightly median rate displayed next to hotel search results, allowing them to easily compare and evaluate different options. You can customize the factors taken into account when calculating the median price, ensuring that hotels located too far away or outside a range of approved star ratings are not included in the calculation.
NOTE: To maintain a consistent calculation, you should enable this feature at the company's Default Policy level and avoid further customizations.
To enable and configure the nightly median rate
- Login to the Online Booking tool.
- Select Policies from the Program menu.
- Expand the Policy menu on the left.
- Select the Default Policy from the menu.
- Expand the Hotel section.
- Scroll down to locate the Nightly median rate section.
- Select the toggle to turn on nightly median rate feature.
- Set the Search radius field to the desired number of miles. This is the radius in miles around a location searched by your travelers and is used to determine which hotels will be considered when calculating the median price.
- Set the Rating range fields. You do this by selecting the minimum and maximum number of stars a hotel can have to be considered when calculating the median price.
