Set the billing entity for a legal entity

Each legal entity has a billing entity. The billing entity determines the address and tax ID that will appear on all receipts and invoices for that legal entity. By default, that will be the address and tax ID of the legal entity.

However, if needed, you can set the billing entity for a particular legal entity to another legal entity (in which case that second legal entity's address and tax ID will appear on receipts and invoices for transactions associated with the first legal entity).

The Billing entity field replaces the Billing address field. The Billing entity field only affects the address and tax ID used for Spotnana-generated receipts and invoices.

To set the billing entity of a legal entity to use the address and tax ID of another legal entity, follow these steps.

  1. Select Company from the Program menu. The Company settings page will be displayed.
  2. Expand the Company branch in the left hand navigation.
  3. Select Legal entities (from under Company). The Legal entities page will be displayed.
  4.  Locate the legal entity you would like to edit and click Edit in its row. The Edit legal entity page will be displayed.
  5. Locate the Billing entity field.
    • If you want to use the address and tax ID of this legal entity, select Same as this legal entity.
    • If you want to use the address and tax ID of a different legal entity, select A different legal entity. Then, select the other legal entity you would like to use. The address and tax ID of the legal entity you select here will appear on invoices and receipts associated with the legal entity for which you are making this setting.
  6. Click Save when done.
